about

First single in a little while!

Special day today as this release represents a milestone in my self taught production journey.

Written around early July last year when I was deep into a LoFi / Chill exploration I started playing around with some ideas until i eventually found the beat and the main lead sound. The song has gone through many changes. At times I wanted to give up, but i saw something calling out in the short 8 - 16 bars of this idea that eventually became "Dawn".

I kept tinkering, adding, subtracting over an entire year, and while at times i thought i was going to lose my mind, I am very happy I stuck with it and saw this through to completion. I've learned a lOT which can only mean great things for what's next.

That said, what's the song actually about?

"Dawn" is one of those songs that you're either listening to on a Sunday morning when you're making your coffee and basking in the luxury of doing absolutely nothing, or after you've been out all night and sinking into that early AM comedown.

The "Unofficial" description behind this track is in all honestly how i feel about Toast. There is an art to toasting bread and getting the perfect cooked slice with a thin layer of butter + peanut butter.

This song is basically an audio representation of my brain synapses when eating peanut butter on toast.
